At a recent meeting of The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) it was announced by their eminent panel that they would be soon re-launching silicone breast implants. The U.S. FDA has also approved the marketing and use of silicone filled breast implants to be used for Boston breast augmentation purposes by women who are aged 22 or older. This change is recent since for over a decade silicone gel breast implants were strictly restricted to be used for breast reconstruction purposes only. The panel announced that they had carried out research to so show evidence that silicone gel breast implants are no more hazardous to health and can be considered safe and efficacious.
